Summer Sessions
Classes Begin in Second Week of June
Summer Sessions completes a year of Language Study in 10 weeks. Six languages are offered. Though difficult, students have agreed that, once accomplished, it is in fact the best way to go. You are finished quickly and don’t have time to forget it; reading begins in just a few weeks. Modern Languages are not offered in Summer Session.
Greek Grammar and Reading Greek grammar and Reading are combined in this 10 week course. You will learn the basics of the language while the Professor reads large amounts of Greek in class with you. You will be reading your Greek New Testament by the end of this course. All texts are available in the Scriptorium. Nota Bene: PLEASE HAVE THE GREEK ALPHABET MEMORIZED BEFORE THE FIRST CLASE. Go to the FREE CLASSES on this site and Select GREEK, to accomplish this.

Hebrew Grammar and Reading Hebrew grammar and reading are combined in this 10 week course. You will learn the basics of the Hebrew language while the Professor reads Genesis chapters 1-25 from the Hebrew Bible in class with you. You will be reading your Hebrew Old Testament by the end of the course. All texts are available in the Scriptorium but you will need to confirm you are attending if you wish to make sure you will have the required texts.
Aramaic Grammar and Reading Prerequisite: Hebrew. This class studies Biblical Aramaic and translates all seven Aramaic chapters of the Old Testament. A complete reading of the Book of Daniel in Hebrew and Aramaic. It also looks at other passages which use Aramaic words and studies why they are used in those passages. Hebrew is prerequisite. All texts are available in the Scriptorium.
Latin Grammar and Reading The Latin grammar and Latin reading are combined. Being the language of education, it will improve your ability to study. You will read large amounts of Latin in class. Latin will raise your English vocabulary very quickly; as well as improve your spelling and understanding of grammar. All texts are available in the Scriptorium.
Syriac & Sahidic Coptic (Egyptian): These Languages are offered upon approval through the office, and are not scheduled until such approval is obtained. You must be comfortable with Hebrew to take Syriac, and be comfortable with Greek to take Sahidic Coptic (Egyptian). These will primarily be offered to Masters Students. The Syriac Grammar and Reading are combined to introduce you to the first Complete Bible Translation made in the a.d. 100s. Made by Jewish Christians, it reveals the first Jewish Interpretations of the entire Bible at the time and following upon the heals of the Apostles. The Sahidic Coptic was the Egyptian Bible made in the a.d. 200s. This was the era when the Greek Alphabet and 6 other letters were used to replace the Hieroglyphics (meaning: sacred carvings) of Egypt.
